Book review – Hyper-V Best Practices

During the holidays I had the time to review the new book “Hyper-V Best Practices” written by my MVP colleague Benedict Berger.

First of all the book is divided into eight chapters.

  • Chapter 1: Accelerate Hyper-V Deployment
  • Chapter 2: High Availability Scenarios
  • Chapter 3: Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Chapter 4: Storage Best Practices
  • Chapter 5: Network Best Practices
  • Chapter 6: Hyper-V Performance Tuning
  • Chapter 7: Management with System Center
  • Chapter 8: Migration to Hyper-V 2012 R2

In every chapter Benedict writes about his day-to-day experience with Hyper-V installations and provides you with the best practices to set up a rock-solid Hyper-V environment.

What I really like are the configurations steps through PowerShell. You get an overview what is possible with PowerShell and how easily you can automate the Hyper-V configuration.

If you have basic experience with Hyper-V this is the right book for you. Because you improve your experience with Hyper-V and also get a best practice guide at the same time.
